July 2010

The farm is doing very well at this point.
Just about everything will be coming out all at the same time. I hope everyone is ready for some heavy bags!

Please let me know if you are interested in a canning class. I will put one together if we have enough interest. If we are going to do this we should have it before we get bombarded by tomatoes which will be in the next few weeks.

We have had some great recipes so far with radishes, snow peas, pickles and cucumbers.

It was nice to have the rain just recently which helped with bringing some life back to the plants.

Hope everyone is having a great summer:-))

  1. Hi Guys,

I thought I would share this since we are getting cabage this week.

Cabbage salad with Walnuts and Dried Cherries

Please note that messurements are approximate, you might want to adjust to taste. I don't messure anything

I use a mandoline slicer or food processor for this

1/2 head of cabbage thinly sliced/shredded
    1 medium cucumber julienned
    sliced
    1 medium carrot julienned
1/4 cup of crushed walnuts or slivered almonds
    1/3 cup of dried cherries

    dressing:
    1/4 of apple cider vinegar
    1/4 of light olive oil
    3 tbsp of soy sauce
    2 tbsp of sugar

    toss all together.

I made it last night and it was yummy

  3. Karen, Can you start a thread specifically for recipes? That way they will all be in the same place. I think only you can do that.

    Thanks

  4. Hopefully we can have a few more interest in canning so we can put a class together. I will keep you informed.
I need to try that wonderful recipe, looks yummy :-))
I have been trying to think of the best way for our recipes and easy access to them for shareholders. I may call and ask you for some advise if that OK.
